Handwritten Valentine
Received one winter day
in an Omaha office
embossed and lacey borders
a little damaged
paper, pink ink, silk flower
arrow-pierced heart.
Inside, the sweetheart’s name
an invitation to a simple
reasonably priced dinner
some horse racing tips
a coupon for a bar
of free-trade dark chocolate.
