Dark Corner
Under an eclipse behind a screen in disguise,
I’m backed up in a dark corner.
Ambushing mist appears possessing elements of classic vampire tales.
I didn’t understand the pretentious and ill-conceived horror
Of this fearsome phantom; spying into my cerebral world.
Others said they have seen the ghost
Floating through the rooms in a dark suit;
His face faded blue and eyes bulging.
While in the shade I battle to conquer fantastic fears,
This devil lurks in the dark corners of my Mind.
“If you think there’s a bogeyman around…
Turn on the light!” interjects a Transforming Power.
“No longer seek refuge in abusive havens opened up to public scrutiny!”
A polished gem- joy in a dark corner released!
I understand that I am not the light or the source of brilliance.
Released from a cloud of doubt, I find hidden joy.
Truth, understanding, knowledge – it’s there, and it will shine…
In the dark corners of my Mind.
